The Vegarredonda refuge is located in the heart of the Western massif of the Picos de Europa, the seed of the primitive Covadonga Mountain National Park.

Its strategic location makes it an ideal starting point to access a multitude of peaks, as well as the Mirador de Ordiales, resting place of Pedro Pidal, Marquis of Villaviciosa and father of Spanish National Parks.

This accessible route runs through wide meadows dotted with shepherds’ huts, full of life with their green pastures and livestock, and all located at the foot of the Peña Santa Peaks, guardians of this beautiful mountain massif.
