The Arcediano Trail is one of the oldest and most beautiful hiking routes in the Picos de Europa. Walking this historic path is like travelling back in time while enjoying spectacular mountain scenery, ancient forests and traditional shepherd landscapes that have remained almost unchanged for centuries.
Our guided circular route combines history, nature and adventure. Throughout the hike, our experienced mountain guides explain the importance of this ancient communication route between Asturias and León, as well as the wildlife, flora and geology that make this area so unique.
Unlike many popular hiking routes, the Arcediano Trail remains peaceful even during the busiest months of the year. This allows hikers to experience the silence of the mountains, cross beautiful beech forests, enjoy panoramic viewpoints and discover hidden corners of the Picos de Europa that few visitors ever see.
After spending the night in the mountain refuge, the route continues through spectacular valleys and follows the crystal-clear waters of the River Dobra, offering one of the most complete trekking experiences in Asturias.
The Arcediano Trail has connected Asturias with the Spanish Plateau for centuries and remains one of the most fascinating historic routes in northern Spain. Today it offers the perfect combination of cultural heritage, mountain landscapes and authentic rural traditions.
