If you’re looking for peace, silence, and nature at its purest, the Vegabaño Forest hike is an experience you’ll never forget. Far from the crowds, this journey takes you deep into the magnificent Cantabrian beech forests, nestled beneath the iconic Peña Santa massif in the heart of Picos de Europa National Park.
Our adventure begins in the beautiful mountain village of Soto de Sajambre. From here, we follow a scenic trail through an enchanting forest that is home to some of Spain’s most emblematic wildlife, including the Iberian wolf, the Cantabrian brown bear, and the elusive capercaillie. Foxes, badgers, and martens are also commonly found in this remarkable natural environment.
The Vegabaño Forest trail is a VERY EASY walk, suitable for all ages and fitness levels. With no technical difficulties, it is the perfect experience for families, groups, and anyone looking to enjoy the mountains without strenuous effort.
Can the experience get any better? Absolutely.
