If you’re looking for peace, silence, and nature at its purest, the Vegaba\u00f1o Forest hike is an experience you’ll never forget. Far from the crowds, this journey takes you deep into the magnificent Cantabrian beech forests, nestled beneath the iconic Pe\u00f1a Santa massif in the heart of Picos de Europa National Park.<\/p>\n
Our adventure begins in the beautiful mountain village of Soto de Sajambre<\/a>. From here, we follow a scenic trail through an enchanting forest that is home to some of Spain’s most emblematic wildlife, including the Iberian wolf, the Cantabrian brown bear, and the elusive capercaillie. Foxes, badgers, and martens are also commonly found in this remarkable natural environment.<\/p>\n The Vegaba\u00f1o Forest trail is a VERY EASY walk, suitable for all ages and fitness levels. With no technical difficulties, it is the perfect experience for families, groups, and anyone looking to enjoy the mountains without strenuous effort.<\/p>\n Can the experience get any better? Absolutely.<\/p>\n At an altitude of 1,432 metres, the charming Vegaba\u00f1o Mountain Hut<\/a> awaits us with a delicious homemade meal prepared by Nuria using locally sourced ingredients. It’s the perfect way to recharge while enjoying authentic mountain hospitality before our return hike.<\/p>\n WITHOUT LUNCH:<\/strong> \u20ac80 per person<\/p>\n WITH MOUNTAIN HUT LUNCH:<\/strong> \u20ac95 per person For your convenience, you can drive directly to the starting point using your own vehicle. Alternatively, we can arrange pick-up in Cangas de On\u00eds, allowing you to relax and enjoy the day without worrying about transport.<\/p>\n This area of Picos de Europa National Park can also be explored on an incredible two-day trekking experience that follows part of the historic Arcediano Trail.<\/a><\/p>\n This guided experience is available every Thursday.
