Far from the crowds, this journey takes you deep into the magnificent Cantabrian beech forests, nestled beneath the iconic Pe\u00f1a Santa massif in the heart of Picos de Europa National Park.<\/p>\n<h2>Hiking from Soto de Sajambre<\/h2>\n<p>Our adventure begins in the beautiful mountain village of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aytoosejadesajambre.es\/los-pueblos\/Soto.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Soto de Sajambre<\/a>. From here, we follow a scenic trail through an enchanting forest that is home to some of Spain&#8217;s most emblematic wildlife, including the Iberian wolf, the Cantabrian brown bear, and the elusive capercaillie. Foxes, badgers, and martens are also commonly found in this remarkable natural environment.<\/p>\n<p>The Vegaba\u00f1o Forest trail is a VERY EASY walk, suitable for all ages and fitness levels. With no technical difficulties, it is the perfect experience for families, groups, and anyone looking to enjoy the mountains without strenuous effort.<\/p>\n<h2>Local Gastronomy: Lunch at Vegaba\u00f1o Mountain Hut<\/h2>\n<p>Can the experience get any better? Absolutely.<\/p>\n<p>At an altitude of 1,432 metres, the charming <a href=\"http:\/\/www.refugiopicos.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vegaba\u00f1o Mountain Hut<\/a> awaits us with a delicious homemade meal prepared by Nuria using locally sourced ingredients.
